Lambtown Festival To Host the California Make It With Wool Contest Again In 2026

The California Make it With Wool Contest will be held at Lambtown Festival on Saturday October 3rd, 2026. Judging will take place in the morning followed by the awards and fashion show at noon on the Leber Garden Stage.

This it the third time the California MIWW judging will occur as part of Lambtown Festival. Prior to joining the festival, the judging and fashion show took place as a stand alone event. Festival President Roy Clemes is proud that the Dixon May Fairgrounds is now the long term home of the competition. “There are a lot of synergies with our two organizations. A lot of crafters are familiar with knitting, crocheting, and felting with wool, but they have not been introduced to wool fabric, even though they might sew regularly. Adding this contest to our event lineup has been great way to continue to serve our mission of celebrating sheep and wool,” says Clemes.

Make it With Wool is a national competition that promotes creativity and the versatility of sewing, knitting, and crocheting using wool fabrics and yarns. Winners of state competitions have the opportunity to compete in the National Make It With Wool Contest held in Charleston, South Carolina in January 2027.
