Sheep to Shawl is a competition in which teams race against the clock to transform wool into a beautiful, wearable shawl. In 2018 and 2019, Lambtown Festival hosted the largest S2S competitions in the country. In 2020, we held the first ever virtual competition – and it was even larger than either of the previous two years!
As in the past few years, we will have two divisions, Virtual and Fairgrounds, and the winners will go head-to-head for a Grand Champion Blue Ribbon! All judging will be done by Amelia Garripoli. Individuals may compete on one team in each division.
Attend the competitions
Teams of eight competitors card, spin, ply, and weave fleece into a shawl while the clock is ticking. Will all of the teams complete a shawl in time? Join us to watch this growing spectator sport. Our judge will determine the winner of the Fairgrounds Division before crowning a Grand Champion. Judging begins around 3PM on Sunday, October 4th.
