
The California Make it With Wool Contest will be held on Saturday October 4th, 2025. Judging takes place in the morning followed by the awards and fashion show at noon on the Leber Garden Stage.
The competition promotes creativity and the versatility of sewing, knitting, and crocheting using wool fabrics and yarns. The contest has a long, colorful history with the first contest being held in 1947 to foster an interest in sewing using wool. The contest has since encouraged personal expression and exceptional workmanship while showcasing thousands of awe-inspiring woolen garments from all over the US.

The California MIWW Contest will offers the categories of Pre-Teen (12 years and under), Junior (age 13-16), Senior (age17-24), Adult (age 25 and older), and Wearable Accessories for all ages. Age is determined as of January 1, 2025. All garments must be constructed using fabric or yarn containing a minimum of 60% wool. Junior, Senior, and Adult California MIWW winners are eligible to compete in the 2026 National Contest. The National Contest will be held in Reno, NV, in January 2026.
