Workshop FAQs

Q: How early should I register?

A: Many workshops sell out, some on the first day of registration, so it’s best to sign up early. If a workshop is full, you can join the waitlist and we will reach out if a spot opens up.

Q: Is festival admission included for students?

A: Almost all students get free admission on the day of their weekend workshop, and you will see a free B Gate ticket added to your shopping cart. Just after registration you will be emailed a link with a QR code to show at the gate, either on your phone or printed out. No ticket is needed for Thursday or Friday. The exception for free admission is our Producer Education series because those workshops are offered at a nominal fee and aimed at shepherds who are already onsite with their sheep.

Q: Is there special parking area for students?

A: Yes, students can park in Lot B, which is close to most classrooms. If that lot is full, park in Lot A across from the main gate, and walk to B Gate to enter.

Q: How early can I arrive for a workshop?

A: Students can enter through B Gate starting at 8am. If you are taking an afternoon-only workshop, please do not arrive before 9am when the festival opens.

Q: Do I need to check in when I arrive?

A: You only need to check in on your first day to collect your nametag and goodie bag, which you can do in the lobby of the East Classroom Building. We will have volunteers there to direct you to your classroom if needed, or you can use the confirmation and map emailed after registration to orient yourself.

Q: Do I need to bring any supplies or pay for a materials kit?

A: This depends on the workshop, and details can be found on the workshop’s registration page and in the confirmation emailed to you after registration. If there is a materials fee, it will be automatically added to your cart during registration.

Q: Should I bring a lunch or can I buy food there? How about coffee?

A: We will bring in a catered lunch on Thursday and Friday with omnivorous and vegetarian options, which students can enjoy for a suggested donation of $10-15. If you have dietary restrictions, we recommend bringing your own lunch. Food trucks will be onsite Saturday and Sunday only. We expect to have a coffee vendor open at 8am each morning. Sinks and filtered water refill stations are available.

Q: How should I get in touch about accessibility needs?

A: General information about accessibility is available, and if you have any additional accessibility needs, please email [email protected] as soon as possible.

Q: Are there food trucks, vendors, or sheep onsite Thursday and Friday?

A: You may see some, but they’ll be busy setting up for festival weekend, not open for business. Weekday students will likely want to return on festival weekend to enjoy all the activities!

Q: Is there anything else to do on the fairgrounds after a Thursday or Friday workshop?

A: Yes, you can volunteer to help set up for festival weekend! We are a 100% volunteer run event, so if you have a few hours to help make this the best Lambtown Festival ever, please fill out the volunteer form. We are generally working until 8 or 9pm so you can join after your workshop, or this can also be a good way for friends and family to have something to do while you’re in class.

Q: What if I need to cancel my workshop?

A: Workshops can be cancelled with at least four weeks’ notice for a full store credit if you set up an account in our system, or a refund minus 15% cancellation fee. At any time, students may find a replacement to take their space – email [email protected] to let us know the name and email of the person taking your place.
