Learn the basics of tablet weaving while you recreate a 10th century band from Norway. Tablet weaving creates strong, decorative, and relatively narrow bands and is a very accessible choice for entering the world of weaving due to the simplicity of the equipment needed to get started. In this class you will gain an understanding of how to read a pattern, warp the cards, and get started on your band. We will talk a little history with a focus on the time period of our band and touch on some of the different approaches you may come across when carrying on with your tablet weaving journey. You have a variety of options to use as a “loom” and many are very easy to DIY.
