Explore the art of overdyeing in this hands-on natural dyeing workshop, where you’ll layer plant-based dyes on yarn to unlock a rich spectrum of complex hues. Building beyond the basics, we’ll focus on the transformative power of overdyeing – dyeing yarn in multiple sequential baths to create nuanced color variation -while exploring how color order, timing, and combinations dramatically shift the final palette. Working with pre-mordanted wool mini skeins and a selection of pre-dyed base samples, you’ll set up concentrated dye baths from natural materials, experiment with base colors, and overdye to craft personalized layered effects, including an optional simple resist technique for added pattern and texture.

Brittany is a textile enthusiast and a project addict. She began her basket weaving and fiber arts journey at age ten and has been trekking that road ever since. Her room looked more like a supplies shop than a bedroom, and today her home studio reflects the same ever-growing collection of materials and tools. Brittany is on a mission to make fiber arts and crafting accessible and easy to dive into. Her brand Textile Indie is a website, membership program, and YouTube channel teaching and inspiring folks to explore fiber and traditional crafts.
