This is the pattern that breaks all the rules! Make fun color patterns without carrying more than one yarn; don’t weave in a single end, even if you are working in 10 colors; cut up your knitting without fear! Fizzy Drinks is the perfect way to practice mosaic knitting and to plunge into felting fun. You’ll learn the basics of mosaic knitting, how to work mosaic patterning, and important rules for color choice and combination that applies to all types of colorwork. You’ll also learn how to hand-felt knitted objects.

Note: All classrooms are on the Dixon May Fairgrounds, 655 S 1st St, Dixon, CA, and students will get free admission on the day of their workshop(s).

Students need to bring

Approximately 30 yards of each of two contrasting colors of 100% NON-SUPERWASH wool worsted-weight yarn (examples include Cascade 220, Knit Picks Wool of the Andes Worsted, or Valley Yarns Northampton), needles one size bigger than you would usually use for this yarn (for example, US#8-10) plus a sharp pair of scissors. Additional colors of the same weight of non-superwash yarn can make the project even more fun. Please be aware that if your yarn is listed as being machine washable, it will not work for this project.

Amy Snell is a knitting instructor and designer with an eye for the unusual or unusually captivating. She enjoys teaching techniques and stitch patterns that bring color, contrast, and texture into knitting in new or interesting ways. Whether teaching locally in the San Francisco Bay area, virtually, or in-person for knitting guilds and events nationwide, Amy loves to help other knitters explore new techniques and expand the way they think about their knitting. Her goal is to make complex concepts approachable for all knitters, while sharing tips that improve your process whether you’ve been knitting for several weeks or several decades.

We have flat rate pricing workshops, with up to two low-income spaces per session*. Materials fee, if any, is included in the price paid at the time of registration.

Admission Tickets

Admission tickets – including the Wool on Wheels busses – are transferable but not refundable. Lambtown Festival will be held rain or shine.

Workshops

Workshops can be cancelled with at least four weeks’ notice for a full store credit if you set up an account in our system, or a refund minus 15% cancellation fee. At any time, students may find a replacement to take their space – email [email protected] to let us know the name and email of the person taking your place.

Merchandise

Merchandise purchased through this website is custom made for each order. As such, no cancellations or refunds are available. If you are unhappy with the quality of the print, please contact Printful customer service for a replacement.

Camping Fees

Camping fees are not refundable. Lambtown Festival will be held rain or shine.

There are currently no Covid-19 restrictions on events of our size. We advise all students to take any precautions they deem necessary for their own safety in consideration of Covid-19. Vaccinations are not required to enter the fairgrounds but are highly encouraged for the safety of all our attendees. Hand sanitation and/or wash stations will be located throughout the fairgrounds, along with restrooms.
