Dip stitches are a clever technique that creates bold, dimensional texture with surprisingly simple moves. In this workshop we’ll learn how to work directional dip stitches, combine them into bold repeating patterns, shape them into more elaborate decorative elements, and explore the use of contrasting colors. We’ll also talk about how to use dip stitches in your own projects to add structure and visual interest. If you enjoy textures that look intricate but are satisfying to knit, this class will open up a whole new set of possibilities.

Note: All classrooms are on the Dixon May Fairgrounds, 655 S 1st St, Dixon, CA, and students will get free admission on the day of their workshop(s).
Intermediate Level Skills Students should have some experience knitting basic textures and reading patterns. They should know how to cast on, bind off, directionally increase and decrease, and knit or purl through the back loop.
Dip Stitches workshop handout with directions for the swatch written out and, where applicable, charted, with links to videos for later use.
Smooth DK to worsted weight yarn in two solid, contrasting colors for swatching, approx. 100 yds / 90 m each.
US 6 / 4 mm circular needles on at least 32″ / 80 cm cable, or size that suits chosen yarn best.
Optional: double-pointed needles in matching size.
Ksenia Naidyon is a full-time knitwear designer and a creative force behind Life Is Cozy. She offers modern patterns and tutorials for pieces that celebrate texture and are often inspired by plants, berries, and her native Ukraine. Since 2012, Ksenia has created more than a hundred patterns, worked for a wide variety of yarn companies, and had her designs featured on the pages of various publications around the world. Ksenia loves a good spreadsheet, is a passionate knit/crochetwear photographer, and enjoys every minute of it!
We have flat rate pricing workshops, with up to two low-income spaces per session*. Materials fee, if any, is included in the price paid at the time of registration.

Please note: We will not disclose which students received low-income pricing and all students will be treated equally by Lambtown Festival and our instructors.
Admission tickets – including the Wool on Wheels busses – are transferable but not refundable. Lambtown Festival will be held rain or shine.
Workshops can be cancelled with at least four weeks’ notice for a full store credit if you set up an account in our system, or a refund minus 15% cancellation fee. At any time, students may find a replacement to take their space – email [email protected] to let us know the name and email of the person taking your place.
Merchandise purchased through this website is custom made for each order. As such, no cancellations or refunds are available. If you are unhappy with the quality of the print, please contact Printful customer service for a replacement.
Camping fees are not refundable. Lambtown Festival will be held rain or shine.

Vaccinations are not required to enter the fairgrounds but are highly encouraged for the safety of all our attendees. Hand sanitation and/or wash stations will be located throughout the fairgrounds, along with restrooms.
