Wet Felted Vessels with Sharon Mansfield

Location: Dixon May Fairgrounds in Dixon, CA


Workshop Description: There is magic in making a vessel. We felt a double sided, flat circle with a resist inside, cut a slit in the center of one side and this creates a hollow sphere. Almost like magic! This exciting technique is the beginning of understanding how to construct purses, seamless garments, hats and much more.


Experience Level: No experience necessary


Students Should Bring: a positive attitude


Instructor will supply: All materials required including wool and fibers, templates, soap, and miscellaneous tools. hand Dyed and commercially dyed merino wool roving, wool nepps, throwsters silk, silk lap, soap, netting, and more.


Materials Fee: $70 included in workshop price

Instructor Bio: Sharon, along with daughter Hannah Arose, owns the Tin Thimble, a creative fiber arts store that specializes in felting and dyeing workshops. They’ve been in business since 2007 and are proud to have taught thousands of students the joy of creating with wool, silk and other fibers!
