Seaming & Finishing for Knitting and Crochet with Kira Dulaney
Time: Thursday, September 29th 9a.m.-4p.m.
Location: Dixon May Fairgrounds in Dixon, CA
Workshop Description: Neat seaming and finishing make such a difference in a handmade project, but so many knitters and crocheters don't feel confident in their finishing skills. We will cover weaving in ends, seaming in various directions, picking up stitches, buttonholes, buttons, and zippers as well as both steam blocking and wet blocking.
Experience Level: beginning level skills
Students Should Bring: At least four stocking stitch or single crochet swatches 4" or larger made with similar weight yarns, additional yarn in a similar size, knitting needles or crochet hooks in an appropriate size for your yarn, separating zipper any length, sewing thread, darning needle, sewing needle. Optional: a project ready to seam and finish, small projects or gauge swatches ready to block, swatches in other stitch patterns, blocking mat/board or clean cardboard, blocking pins.

Instructor Bio: Kira Dulaney has been teaching fiber arts classes and hosting crafty events in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond since 2002. As a teacher, her focus is on providing valuable information in a stress-free environment, and supporting students through the learning process. She is also the designer behind Kira K Designs, a line of original knitting and crochet patterns and kits featuring clean lines and intriguing details that are both interesting to make and easy to wear.
