Beginning Rigid Heddle Weaving with Sharlet Elms


Time: Saturday, October 1st 9a.m.-4p.m.


Location: Dixon May Fairgrounds in Dixon, CA


Workshop Description: Learn how to warp and weave on a rigid heddle loom while creating a scarf. Students will learn to warp a rigid heddle loom by the peg method, how to plan a project and weave a scarf.


Experience Level: No experience necessary


Students Should Bring: Rigid heddle loom*, 8 or 10 dent heddle, warping peg, heddle hook, scissors, tape measure, 2 skeins of worsted weight yarn with a minimum of 200 yds per skein.

*A limited number of looms are available to rent for $20.


Instructor will supply: Instructional booklet


Materials Fee: $5 included in workshop price

Instructor Bio: Sharlet is a weaver of over 20 years experience. She started and continues to mentor a weaving study group for her guild as well as teach private students and offer workshops. Sharlet is also an instructor for Rumpelstiltskin's Yarn Shop in Sacramento.
