Organized by the Redwood Empire Sheep Dog Association (RESDA,) this event will be conducted using the RESDA course, bylaws and rules. RESDA uses its own unique trial course designed by Mendocino County sheep ranchers in 1947. The course includes an outrun, lift and fetch back to the handler and around the pen, followed by a fetch through two sets of panels and one chute, with a pen to finish. Rules are available here.
Open: $35.00, includes Elimination Trial on Saturday, October 1st, at 10:00 AM,
followed by Finals Trial for top ten scoring handlers on Sunday, October 2nd, at 10:00 AM;
Elimination entries limited to 30 dogs
Pro Novice: $20.00 | Sunday, October 2nd, 1:30 PM (Handlers’ Meeting 1:00 PM); Pro Novice entries limited to 15 dogs
The winner of the Finals Trial will receive a silver buckle sponsored by the Slaven Family of Zamora, CA. Cash prizes will also be paid to Open 1st to 5th both days. Ribbons for Pro Novice 1st to 5th on Sunday.
Entries and Run Order:
Entries open September 1st and must be received by September 30st, 2016. (Entry form can be found here.) Entries will be based on postmark date beginning September 1st, with a waiting list if needed. No refunds will be made after September 31st, 2015. Two dogs in each class per handler, with a third dog allowed if space permits.
